I just finished a two-week book tour, so I haven’t been able to properly blog about this until now. On September 16, the National Book Foundation announced their 2013 Longlist for Young People’s Literature, and Boxers & Saints is on it! I was absolutely speechless when I found out. In 2006, the National Book Award nomination of American Born Chinese changed my life. And now they’ve changed my life again. Thank you, National Book Foundation. I’m incredibly honored to be listed alongside such gifted storytellers, including my fellow Hamline University faculty member Anne Ursu!
